CAPE MAY – There’s no better place for Christmas shopping than the Washington Street Mall! This season, the mall will be festively adorned with Christmas trees, fresh greens and berries. Come stroll the mall and see it illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights. The businesses of the mall are ready to make visitors’ shopping experiences as enjoyable as possible!
For the month of December, many businesses will offer extended evening shopping hours. The shops and restaurants will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended shopping hours till 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays for your shopping convenience.
On Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m., enjoy some old fashioned holiday cheer when the City of Cape May officially kicks off the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the newly renovated Rotary Park Bandstand located on the 400 block of Lafayette Street. The festive family program will include caroling, a presentation from the Lower Cape May Regional chorus and a special visit from Santa Claus. Cape May City officials will be present for the ceremony, as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May and Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities.
Hospitality Nights on the Mall are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Shop the small businesses of the Washington Street Mall and enjoy strolling carolers. You might just encounter Old St. Nicholas, too!
