The Wildwoods Convention Center Hosts 9th Annual ‘Family Holiday Celebration’ Dec. 9 & 10

THE WILDWOODS – Enjoy the 2016 holiday season in the Wildwoods with exciting festivities for the entire family on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10 during the 9th Annual ‘Family Holiday Celebration.’

The Wildwoods ‘Family Holiday Celebration’ kicks off Friday, Dec. 9 with the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or chairs and some hot cocoa, and enjoy a festive holiday procession along the streets of the Wildwoods. The parade commences at 16th & Central avenues then continues South on Pacific Avenue through Wildwood to Heather Road in Wildwood Crest, then North on Ocean Avenue ending at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Parade registration begins at 5 p.m. with parade line-up at 5:30 p.m. at the North Wildwood Recreation Center, located at 10th and Central avenues. There is no fee to submit a float entry for the parade. Trophies will be awarded to winners in four different categories later in the evening during the Christmas Parade Awards Ceremony inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Awards will be given in the following divisions: Community Service, Commercial, Marching Bands and Public Service. Immediately following the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Christmas Parade, the fun continues at the Wildwoods Convention Center with a traditional Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. After the tree lighting ceremony, festivities continue inside the Convention Center with the Christmas Parade Awards Ceremony and free hot chocolate and cookies for everyone. Prior to the Convention Center Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade Awards Ceremony, the venue will host a Holiday Shopping Bazaar beginning at 6 p.m., featuring holiday-themed crafters offering unique, one-of-a-kind gift items.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Wildwoods Convention Center will be sparkling with holiday lights and filled with the sounds of holiday music as the FREE Wildwoods ‘Family Holiday Celebration’ continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a full day of shopping, crafts, face painting, local school children’s choruses & band performances, music, gymnastics & cheer performances, a magician, FREE holiday movies and a special visit from Santa Claus.

10 a.m. – Art of Gymnastics & Cheer
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Balloon Twisting
10:30 a.m. – Wildwood Catholic High School
11 a.m. – Santa Claus Arrives
11:30 a.m. – Magician Ken Northridge
12:30 p.m. – Glenwood School Choir
12:50 p.m. – Wildwood Middle School Choir
