“Book Tasting”

Children 6 and up and their loved ones are invited to “taste” the Children’s Department’s new favorite books! Enjoy some treats, make a craft, and discover some fun new reads. Please contact us ahead of time at children@cmclibrary.org or (609) 463-6350 x300 if your child has a food allergy and would like to attend. 

Invaders of the Marsh: Wetlands Lecture

As our world has become more interconnected, our ecosystems have also changed to include animals and plants worldwide. Some of these new additions are harmless, but some have taken over and become invasive species. This Wetlands Institute talk will introduce some of the most common invasive plants and animals we see in our area, how and if they’re managed and how they might affect us in the future.

Join the Avalon Library on Thursdays in February and March for very special events for ages 3 to 6! At this Yay, it’s Thursday the Wetlands Institute will bring sea creatures with amazing features – a fun and interactive explanation of local sea animals with hands-on time at the end of the program. 

Wildwood Crest 100-Mile Walk Begins

The Borough of Wildwood Crest Recreation Department’s Mayor’s Wellness Campaign is set to host the third annual Wildwood Crest Mayor’s Wellness Virtual Challenge during the month of March. Participants are instructed to walk, run, swim, cycle or pedal an elliptical machine 100 miles during the 31 days in March. Participants will track their miles in each exercise category throughout the month and submit weekly totals to the Wildwood Crest Mayor’s Wellness Campaign Facebook page 

Predict the Oscars 

Saturday, Mar. 2 from 3 to 4 p.m.  

Avalon Library, 235 32nd St., Avalon         

We will take a look at all of this year’s nominees for the major award categories in this year’s Oscars. Participants can submit guesses for films that will be awarded the statues at the 96th Academy Awards, airing March 10. The person with the most correct predictions will win a prize! 

Arts and Crafts with Paige
