The Borough of Wildwood Crest, in conjunction with JLD Event Management and Timing LLC, has announced the creation of the Run The Crest running festival on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Run The Crest includes a series of running races for participants of all ages and abilities staged out of Centennial Park, a beachfront recreation area located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue. Run The Crest will include 10-mile and 5K races, with an option to combine the two races for the Crest Combo Half Marathon. A fun run for children will also be held.
Post-race activities include live entertainment from the Centennial Park stage, food trucks, vendors and more.
The Run The Crest 5K is set to begin at 7 a.m., with the Run The Crest 10-miler following at 8 a.m. Those who wish to complete a half marathon can run in both races. The Crest Kids Fun Run, open to children ages 10 and under, will be held at 11 a.m.
The event will feature individual and team registration. Team categories include running clubs, triathlon clubs, adults 18 and older, youth ages 14-17, youth ages 10-13, military heroes (for active military and veterans), first responder heroes (police, fire, EMTs) and lifeguards.
Registration for the Run The Crest running festival is currently open at runsignup.com/runthecrest. Donations will be collected for the Amanda’s Wish charity in Wildwood Crest during the event.
