We spend our entire winter counting down the days until Memorial Day Weekend, and before we know it, the summer has come and gone and the Labor Day blues set in. But we here at DoTheShore aren’t ready to let the summer go just yet! So, for the month of September, we’ll be reliving those beach days and Boardwalk nights by featuring all of our drinks of the week from summer 2016. Read on to find our first five drinks, pick your favorite and go celebrate an endless summer!
1. New Jersey Blueberry Martini from Surf Dog Bar & Grill
Honoring our very own Jersey blueberries, the New Jersey Blueberry Martini is made with blueberry vodka, a splash of Blue Curacao and a splash of pineapple juice. Don’t let the electric blue color fool you – every sip resembles the sweet taste of a handful of fresh blueberries. Garnished with a cherry and an orange slice, the drink is bursting with color, making it the perfect martini to remind you of a hot summer day.
2. Wharf Rum Runner from The Wharf
The Wharf Rum Runner is made with Cruzan Coconut Rum, Mount Gray Dark Rum, Blackberry Brandy, banana juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. Appropriately, the rum in this drink is dominant, but the drink’s fruity flavors shine through creating the perfect tropical cocktail. Add the sunshine, bay breeze and waterfront views The Wharf’s outside deck has to offer, and you’ve got your own little taste of paradise.
3. Sunset Celebration from Bare Foot Bar & Restaurant
Made with Cruzan Vanilla Rum, Cruzan Pineapple Rum, Cruzan Coconut Rum, Cruzan Banana Rum, a splash of orange and pineapple juices, and strawberry puree on top, this signature drink is full of fruity flavor and fun! It’s the perfect sweet blend of summer fruits, making you feel as if you’re truly in a resort town with every sip. And of course the pool, beach views and summer breezes help, too! The Bare Foot Bar is closed for the season, but can’t wait to see you next summer!
4. Summer Bug from Dogtooth Bar & Grill
Summer Bug is a mix of Malibu Coconut Rum, melon and banana liqueurs, and pineapple and cranberry juices. The drink is a light pink color which fades to yellow at the bottom of the glass, which reminds us of a summertime sunset. Everything about this sweet, fruity cocktail screams, “SUMMER!” The lemon slice garnish adds just the right finishing touch.
5. Backfin Blue from Backfin Blues Bar & Grill
The Backfin Blue is a frenzy of pineapple flavor. Bartender Kate, the creator of this signature drink, made it for us using Cruzan Pineapple Rum, pineapple juice and Blue Curaçao, appropriately giving the cocktail a blue color. The pineapple slice garnish gives this drink its finishing touch, completing your taste of paradise. Sip it alongside sunset views and palm trees on Backfin’s rooftop deck!
