Our first featured mixologist of the season comes from Two Mile Landing in Wildwood Crest, a fun bar and restaurant with great drinks, live entertainment, and cool staff members. Most people search high and low for a job they love, but bartender Austin Mitchell is lucky enough to have found his place at a great bar.
The Erma native, who now lives in Cape May Court House year-round, is going on his third year at Two Mile Landing. Austin started as a bar back and quickly moved up to serving within a year. This year he had the opportunity to take on bartending and hasn’t looked back since. He credits the managers with his success because they have always recognized his hard work and allowed him to move around and transition into bartending. With varied positions in local restaurants over the years under his belt, he thinks the experience he’s gained from this job is invaluable and important for his future, long-term goals. His dream is to own his own a restaurant somewhere down the line, whether it be in the area or elsewhere.
Austin explained that his favorite part of the job is the close-knit staff and the awesome friends that he’s met since he joined the team. When Austin isn’t working behind the bar, he enjoys going to the beach, playing hockey, and hanging out with his friends from work and high school.
