Moonlight Hikes, Trash Cleanups, and More at Belleplain State Forest

The weather is warming up, so why not go for a hike at our local state forest? Belleplain State Forest is part of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the largest remaining example of the Atlantic coastal pine barrens ecosystem. There are camping spots open year-round, recreational areas including an athletic field, a beach, a fishable lake, and miles of trails.

Come to one of the forest’s free events! Check their Facebook page for info on event cancellations.

Once in Belleplain State Forest, just follow the signs to the public parking lot (free) and then walk the short distance on to the observing field. Please dress appropriately on cold nights. Consider bug spray on warm nights. Only RED flashlights are allowed on the field.
