Bellaplain State Forest is a 21,000-acre slice of protected land with a beautiful lake and a small beach, lots of trails, places to camp either in cabins or one of the primitive sites, and free events hosted all year long by park employees. The forest was established in 1928 and was largely carved out by members of the Civilian Conservation Corps, who dug out Lake Nummy and blazed many of the trails that still stand today. Be sure to visit one of Cape May County’s best attractions.
