On Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4 p.m., The Masterworks Choir and Orchestra of Ocean City will perform the Mozart “Requiem.” The concert which will take place at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 8th St. and Central Ave., Ocean City.
The deeply emotional and complex “Requiem” is one of the most famous choral works in the classical repertoire. The performance will take place on the 15th anniversary of “9/11/01.” It will honor the memory of those who perished on that day, as well as honor our first responders who put their lives in jeopardy every day.
John Gregory Bate is the musical director and conductor for the choir and orchestra. Featured soloists will be Nancy Fox, soprano, Florence Moyer, alto, Ben Perkins, tenor and Robert Snodgrass, baritone.
A freewill offering will be collected. The church is handicapped accessible.
