Not all plant sales are the same…
Native, wildlife-friendly, great selection and plenty of personal knowledgeable advice – these are the salient things that set the Nature Center’s annual plant sale above all the others. Get your garden off to a great start after the long winter and come out to the Nature Center’s Spring Weekend Native Plant Sale on May 19 and May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As always, the focus of this Wildlife Plant Sale is on native plants that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and songbirds, and that also have a strong ornamental appeal to many landscapes. In addition to over 70 perennials and several species of milkweed, many varieties of native trees and shrubs will be available as well. The list of plants expected to be available can be picked up from the Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave., Cape May, or call (609) 427-3045 and ask that a list be emailed or faxed to you. Remember, there are no longer pre-orders.
Popular with locals and visitors alike, this sale has a well-established tradition of featuring plants that are native, adaptable and beneficial to wildlife; plants that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and songbirds. In addition, very often these are plants that are not available anywhere else.
As always, the advantage of this plant sale is the opportunity to tap into the knowledge of long-time local gardeners, backyard habitat experts and Master Gardeners. It is the opportunity for enthusiasts and neophytes alike to obtain advice from these longtime local gardeners that makes this plant sale a much-anticipated event for gardeners throughout the state.
