National Night out is going to take place on August 6th all over the country. The event is free and it is open to the public. Cape May County welcomes everyone to come out and enjoy the night. This night will allow the attendees to meet people who put in an effort and help the community. Check out the listings we have for you to see what is going on in your area.
Avalon
Avalon’s National Night Out will be on August 6th from 6pm to 8pm in the parking lot adjacent to the north side of Avalon Community Hall at 30th Street and the beach in Avalon. The event will end with Avalon’s free big movie at 8:45 featuring “Rise of the Guardians”. The public safety departments in Avalon will be bringing their rescue vehicles. There will be plenty of activities and prizes for all ages during the celebration. There will be a DJ providing live music on site while children enjoy activities such as miniature golf, a bowling game, whiffle home run derby, face painters, and much more.
Dennis Township
The Dennis township event will be held on August 6th from 6pm to 10pm at the Recreation Complex in South Dennis on 565 Dennisville Road. There will be a big celebration with crime prevention exhibits, drug and alcohol awareness, music, carnival games and fireworks at dusk! There will also be chicken barbeque dinners available for $13 per ticket with all proceeds benefiting the David “Buddy Boy” Gonnam Scholarship fund. For more information, please contact 609-861-1045.
Lower Township
In Lower Township, the Police Department invites all citizens to attend the 30 year Anniversary of National Night out. The event will be held on August 6th beginning at 7pm and ending at 9pm at the Lower Cape May Regional High School in Erma. At the event, you can enjoy different public safety displays, pony rides, complimentary refreshments, games, entertainment and a lot of family fun!
North Wildwood
In North Wildwood the National Night out will be on August 6th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Fox Park on Fern Road and Ocean Ave. There will be free games, food, prizes, dunk tanks and much more! Make sure to bring your friends and family out to support a yearly event that offers an opportunity to build neighborhood unity and strengthen police community partnerships.
Ocean City
In Ocean City the event will be held at Richard Grimes Field on 6th and Bay Avenue from 5pm to 9pm. The Ocean City PBA Local 61 along with the Community’s Policing Unit is participating in the national crime prevention event, the 30th Annual National Night out. The event is open to the public and the event is designed to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness. There are many activities including block parties, cookouts, contest and different youth programs for all ages. Children can win prizes and play different games.
Sea Isle City
The Sea Isle National Night Out with be on August 6th from 6pm to 8pm at Marina Park, The Bay at 42nd Place. Enjoy family fun games, face painters, balloon artists, live music and entertainment for kids of all ages. The idea of National Night Out is to increase awareness for important police programs, such as drug prevention and avoiding juvenile alcohol use. Make sure to stop by because while interacting with the first responders at each booth, children will receive free ride tickets for Funland Amusement Park which is also on 42nd Place.
