Mid-Atlantic Police and Fire Survivors’ Weekend (MAPFSW) is a series of events that recognize truly forgotten heroes: the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters, including family members and co-workers. It is a weekend in autumn when old friends get to see each other and new survivors become part of our close-knit family. This year’s MAPFSW will take place from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. The event is hosted annually by the North Wildwood Police Department and is held in the seashore resort of North Wildwood. This year’s host hotel is Matador Oceanfront Resort, 511 E. 16th Ave., North Wildwood. For reservations, call (609) 522-1234.
Some of this year’s event highlights include:
Public Mingle on Friday at 6 p.m.
A Public Mingle will be held at Keenan’s Tiki Bar, 113 Old New Jersey Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m. with a $10 cover charge that goes to MAPFSW.
Cookout at Matador Oceanfront Resort on Saturday at 12 p.m.
Join us at the Matador Oceanfront Resort sun deck for a casual cookout and spend some time with other MAPFSW attendees before you head out to explore North Wildwood. When you check in for MAPFSW on Friday you will be given wrist bands to wear at the cookout so we know you’re with our group. See you there!
Public Safety Expo on Saturday at 5 p.m.
There will be a display and demonstration of police and fire equipment and personnel at 2nd and Surf avenues.
And much more! Daily schedule is subject to change. For a full schedule of events, visit midatlanticsurvivors.org/schedule.htm.
