Drink of the Week: Liquid Luck

In the spirit of this weekend’s North Wildwood Irish Festival, we decided that this week’s outstanding cocktail concoction should hail from one of the Wildwoods’ authentic Irish pubs. And while the Wildwoods have their fair share of such pubs, Tucker’s of Atlantic Avenue has always been a popular choice. Struck by the bar’s distinct historic architecture, we headed inside on our quest for drink of the week. Bartender Ryan invited us to pull up a bar stool and wait just one quick moment as he mixed and shook Tucker’s signature “Liquid Luck”. A bright green key to many Irish hearts, Liquid Luck is a fruity salute to the Emerald Isle. First, Ryan first poured 1.5 oz. of Malibu Coconut Rum, .75 oz. of Blue Curacao, .75 oz. of Midori Melon Liqueur, and a splash of pineapple juice over ice. He then vigorously shook the mixture, explaining that such shaking is key as it “wakes up” the citrus flavors. Finally, the Liquid Luck is served in a glass over ice and garnished with an orange slice and lime wedge for the finishing Irish touch. Liquid Luck is best described as a perfect melange of both tropical and citrus flavors. Each sip offers a flavorful burst of all ingredients.

Couldn’t every one use a little Liquid Luck this Irish Weekend? Sample this drink of the week for yourself only at Tucker’s. Those who’d rather get in the spirit with an Irish brew can enjoy $4 pints of the “Three Beer Strong” trinity – Guinness, Smithwick’s, and Harp – all weekend long. Tucker’s will also feature a number of Irish cuisine specials and live Irish-themed entertainment Thursday through Sunday. Be sure to stop by Friday and Saturday starting at 8 to sample the awesome sounds of the Broken Shillelaghs, the premiere Irish band of Southern New Jersey.
