Drink of the Week: Cucumber Watermelon Margarita

drinkoftheweek

This week we visited The Brown Room, newly renovated this year, to try one of their signature drinks made with locally sourced ingredients from Beach Plum Farm. This week’s featured drink is the refreshing Cucumber Watermelon Margarita!

The Cucumber Watermelon Margarita is the perfect blend of tequila, sweet watermelon, and refreshing cucumber. To make the drink, The Brown Room’s manager, Chelsea, combined Cazadores Blanco, Combier, fresh cold-pressed watermelon and cucumbers, and fresh-pressed lime. The Brown Room has a Farm to Glass concept, inspired by the popular Farm to Table concept, and uses the freshest seasonal ingredients from Beach Plum Farm in their hand-crafted cocktails. The bartenders then combine the fruits with the simplest spirits, so there are no additives and fewer sweeteners than other fruity cocktails. Chelsea garnished the glass with a lime and it was ready to be served!

Next time you want a fantastic cocktail, head over to The Brown Room, located in Congress Hall, and relax in “Cape May’s Living Room.” The newly renovated cocktail lounge provides guests with a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere and serves prohibition-era cocktails, specialty cocktails, beer, and wine. Spend some time on the comfortable leather chairs or take a seat at the bar with friends to catch up after a long day at the beach. Enjoy live entertainment from talented local musicians on select nights, including acoustic duos and piano music, and try a Cucumber Watermelon Margarita for yourself!
