This week, we hit Atlantic Avenue’s newest bar and eatery to sample the house signature drink that has become the talk of the town. Pasta Pesto Italian Grill offers diners the freshest taste of Italy, serving up their homemade pasta entrees and featuring its own mini market of goods imported directly from small Italian producers. The glass top bar has also become a showcase for these authentic Italian items, displaying numerous varieties of colorful pasta beneath its countertop. Here, we took a seat to sample what has been hailed as an “ideal summer cocktail”.
Bartender Samantha shook Bacardi, melon liqueur, triple sec, and a splash of sour mix and then poured the concoction into a tall, chilled glass. Finally, she topped off the glass with a splash of Sierra Mist and with that, a Pestotini was born. Pasta Pesto’s house cocktail, the Pestotini achieves that refreshing, fruity flavor without an overwhelming degree of sweetness. As Samantha explained, the Bacardi balances the sugary liqueur. For your own taste of Pasta Pesto’s signature cocktail, join them for Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 pm for $1 off this and all other mixed drinks. Domestic beers are also offered at just $3 a pint while house wines are discounted at $4 a glass. Pasta Pesto’s Happy Hour also features an exclusive $6 menu including choices such as Caesar salad, wings, and classic spaghetti and meatballs.
