Craft Beers Explode at Rio Station

RIO GRANDE – The craft beer industry has exploded in recent years, and Rio Station has joined in with selections from all over the country.
By definition, a craft brewer is a producer that has a majority of its total beverage alcohol volume in beers whose flavor derives from traditional or innovative brewing ingredients and their fermentation.

At Rio, summertime brings seasonal changes like Cape May Brewing Company’s “Summer Catch” Belgian Wheat. With its citrusy and refreshing taste, this Belgian-style wheat ale is CMB’s newest beer to the lineup. Some selections don’t change as much with the seasons, like the ever-popular Cape May IPA. CMB’s flagship beer is a decidedly hoppy, bitter, moderately strong American pale ale.

Other crafts include beers from New Jersey with River Horse Farmhouse Saison and Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale. Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware covers the regional area while Bard’s Gluten-Free Sorghum Lager hails from Minnesota (yes, it IS gluten-free!).

From the other side of the country comes Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shutdown Ale, a malty and rich beer with a snappy hop finish that truly defies style.

Rio Station is located just outside of the Grande Center Mall at Route 9 & 47, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night seven days a week starting at 7:30 a.m.
