Cape Christian Academy Performed “Away in a Mango” on Dec. 13

On Friday, Dec. 13, Cape Christian Academy’s gymnasium was tropically transformed, taking all in attendance on a voyage to an unexpected destination. A full house of guests were greeted at the door with leis and enjoyed themed refreshments like upside-down cake and kabobs. Students, preschool through high school, participated in “Away in a Mango,” which is not your typical Christmas play, but the message was on the mark: Jesus.  As the story goes, the cast of characters were cruising during Christmastime and a storm capsized their boat shipwrecking them on a deserted island. Unsure of how they would return home, despite being stranded, they decided to make the most of it and honor Jesus anyway. Fortunately, like most good stories, it ends well. They celebrated the real reason for Christmas and they were rescued!

Cape Christian Academy wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
