Bored? Attend a Free Event at Belleplain State Forest

Belleplain State Forest is open all year round, even for camping. This beautiful slice of the New Jersey Pine Barrens has miles of trails, a lake for fishing and kayaking, and events put on by the park staff. Thursday Hike 

Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.  

Meet at the Nature Center  

Be prepared to walk at least two miles and gather round for this fun hike, led by a Belleplain park employee with knowledge of the area.  

Full Moon Hike 

Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. 

Meet at the Park Office 

This nighttime hike will take place under a the full “raccoon” moon and takes visitors through 2.5 miles of trails. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Red light only! Do not bring a standard flashlight!  

Galentine’s Day Hike & Social 

Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. 

Meet at the Park Office 

Join us with your gal pals at the park office to hike 2 miles followed by themed snacks and mocktails! Don’t worry, it’s free!  

Make a Heart-Shaped Bird Feeder 

Saturday, Feb. 15 from 12 to 2 p.m. 

Meet at the Park Office 

Join Gina at the park office anytime between 12 and 2 to make a heart shaped bird feeder for a cost of $5 per feeder.

South Jersey Astronomy Club Skywatch  

The South Jersey Astronomy Club hosts public skywatches on the recreation field at Belleplain State 

Forest or at other locations throughout the year. Skywatches usually begin about 7:30PM, and admission  

is free! Once in Belleplain State Forest, just follow the signs to the public parking lot (free) and then walk 

 the short distance on to the observing field. Telescopes will be set up to give beautiful views of objects in  

the night sky! Red lights only, please.
