Summer in Cape May means fun at the beach, enjoying family and friends, and of course, great live music. The John Walter Cape Community Band and its JWB Brass Quintet will once again be adding to the sounds of summer with its summer concert series, “From Sea to Shore.”
This summer’s concert series will take you on a fun-filled journey with music that is all about beach life, sailing, and the beauty of the ocean. Come out to one of the concerts where you will take a stroll Under the Boardwalk, enjoy some Cake by the Ocean, or kick up your feet at Margaritaville. And as we know, Anything Goes down the shore! So, you might hear the Beach Boys on Stage or see an Entrance of the Tall Ships! These entertaining concerts have something for everyone.
The John Walter Band enjoys having musicians from all backgrounds and age groups and supports the development of young musicians through its Play It Again and Scholarship programs. The band performs throughout Cape May County and all of the band’s and quintet’s concerts are free and open to the public. The band is funded through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Funds are administered by the Cape May County Culture and Heritage Commission, under the authority of the Department of Tourism, for the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
