All are welcome to start the holiday on Friday the 4th at Recreational Field on 10th Street for field races beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band
Friday, July 4th from 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Fox Park – Ocean Ave. between Montgomery and Burk, Wildwood

“Changes in Latitudes” – a Jimmy Buffett tribute band – will perform at Fox Park in Wildwood at 6 p.m. Bring your own blanket or beach chair and prepare for some great family fun! For more information, call (609) 729-9000.

Sidewalk Chalk Competition
Saturday, July 5th from 9 to 11 a.m.
Where: – 8th Avenue Field – 8th & Central Aves., North Wildwood

Vendors in the Park
Saturday, July 5th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Macedonia Baptist Church – 630 Lafayette St., Cape May

Macedonia Baptist Church returns with “Vendors in the Park”. This event features a variety of crafts, antiques, and edible delicacies. Proceeds help to support the church building fund. Rain date will be July 6th.

Independence Day at Historic Cold Spring Village
Saturday-Sunday, July 5th & 6th from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village – 720 Shore Rd., Cape May

Celebrate 238 years of American independence and 350 years of New Jersey history all at once! Historic Cold Spring Village’s “Celebrate the Garden State Weekend” will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and offer a variety of patriotic family activities, programs and music showcasing New Jersey’s unique place in American history. This event is generously sponsored by Brigantine VFW.

BeachGlow Music Festival
Saturday, July 5th from 3 to 11 p.m.
Where: Wildwood Beach, Wildwood

The BeachGlow Music Festival makes a splash in the Wildwoods July 5 from 3 -11 p.m. on the Wildwood beach. Concert-goers will enjoy a multi-act show, headlined by Dvbbs, the chart-topping EDM (electronic dance music) duo from Los Angeles, directly on the Wildwoods’ world-class beach. BeachGlow Concerts for Charity, Inc. are the only non-profit EDM concert producer in the nation. Proceeds from the event will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Find. Brendan Borek Low Tide Beach Ride
Saturday, July 5th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: 9th Street Beach, Avalon

This event is a fun time for the whole family. Come join us for the fun or to ride to the 30th Street Pier and back and help raise money for a great cause.
Proceeds from the 2014 LTBR will be donated to Brendan’s Fund a pediatric cancer fund serving local families who have a child with cancer. For more information, visit http://brendansfund.org/.

Stone Harbor Centennial Run and Family Fun 5K Run/Walk
Sunday, July 6th from 8 to 11 a.m.
Where: 80th Street Recreation Field – 80th St., Stone Harbor
Enjoy a day of fitness and fun with the whole family on a route around Stone Harbor’s 100 year old properties in honor of the Centennial. So bring your strollers, wagons, and running shoes! Children 5 and under participate free! Register on active.com.

Phillies Home Run Derby
Sunday, July 6th from 12 to 4 p.m.
Where: Dealy Field Recreation Complex – 5900 Central Ave., Sea Isle City

July 6, Sea Isle City’s Division of Recreation will host the 2014 Philadelphia Phillies Homerun Derby at Dealy Field. The annual competition, which is open to boys and girls, ages 7-12, is a great opportunity for young athletes to display their batting skills – and win prizes.

During the Homerun Derby, participants will swing at balls thrown from an automatic pitching machine. Afterwards, prizes will be awarded by age and gender to the derby’s top performers.

Registration for this free event will take place on the day of the Homerun Derby beginning at 12 noon for girls (age 7-12) and boys (age 9-10). Registration for boys (ages 7-8 and 11-12) will begin at 1:30 p.m. The Homerun Derby’s rain date is Sunday, July 13.
