Join Elaine’s for Frightening Fun this Season!

During “second season,” Elaine’s boutique hotel, gourmet restaurant, Victorian pub and dinner theater all become a SPOOKTACULAR place to celebrate Halloween!

This month at Elaine’s, enjoy elaborately decorated grounds and spooky specials events. The Halloween happenings begin on Friday, Oct. 13 with a FREE outdoor showing of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at Elaine’s Porch & Patio. Bring a blanket, grab a cocktail from the outdoor bar, and snuggle up in front of the huge, wide-screen movie screen. Don’t worry about that fall chill in the air – Elaine’s has outdoor heaters to keep you nice and toasty!

The scary good times continue with the Day of the Dead Party on Friday, Oct. 20, sponsored by Jose Cuervo. Party with the afterlife from 8 p.m. to midnight with live music, seasonal cocktails, drink specials, great food and a devilishly good time. The ghouls and gals will be dressed to impress. No cover charge!

Next up is the Drunken Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday, Oct. 26. Enjoy drunken pumpkin carving, live music, bobbing for apples, seasonal cocktails and drink specials. The carving party and fun take place from 5 to 9 p.m. with judging beginning at 8 p.m. Advance registration and a small donation are required to reserve your pumpkin, with all proceeds benefitting the Animal Outreach of Cape May County. The kids will love Elaine’s “Not so Haunted” Breakfast, taking place Sunday, Oct. 29. After a gourmet breakfast and hot coffee (or cold Bloody Mary or Mimosa), the hotel grounds will open up for a special trick-or-treating event. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $9.95 for children, and free for ages 3 and under.

Take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Victorian Cape May during Elaine’s Walking Ghost Tours. Travel through dark streets, cobblestone pathways and haunted locations as you learn the scary truth about the country’s oldest seaside resort! Tours are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12, and begin at 9 p.m. Reserve your tour ahead of time at (609) 884-1199.

Currently playing at Elaine’s Dinner Theater through October is “Young Dracula,” Elaine’s own spiritual sequel to the classic “Young Frankenstein” with a homage and tribute to Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. $49.95 for adults, $39.95 for teens 13-17 and $29.95 for children under 12 includes a three-course meal and show.
