Your Shot in the Spotlight – Karaoke & Trivia Rundown

While we here at Blast love to feature the most talented local bands, this week we’ve decided to leave the entertainment to you. Calling all karaoke stars! Whether you opt for a classic Madonna ballad or a more current Ke$ha hit, Cape May County offers karaoke-ers of all ages and preferred genres several opportunities to shine.

Don’t have the nerve to belt out a ballad but still want your time in the limelight? No problem. We’re also here to give you the 411 on all the County hotspots where the music savvy can play to win with “Name That Tune”. Warm up your lungs and minds. Here we go!

The Blue Water Grille in the Bolero Resort is the week’s first stop on the Jersey Shore karaoke tour. Every Wednesday night, The Blue Water features Family Fun Karaoke with Johnny Tocco from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Feel the rush as you put on your best show on the Grille’s sprawling stage. On Thursday evening, Terry O’Brien invites shore patrons to join him for Kiddie O’ke starting at 6 p.m. at The Boiler Room at Congress Hall. Later, beginning at 9:30 p.m., the adults get their shot in the spotlight on The Boiler Room stage as Terry O’ke kicks off.

Keenan’s of North Wildwood also invites the “kiddies” to sing their hearts out each Thursday evening beginning at 5. Over at the Oceaninc’s Barefoot Bar, DJ Rayman plays M.C. for Thursday’s night’s open mic karoke.

More of a listener? Swing by Anglesea Pub each Monday night for a round of Name That Tune hosted by Ronn E Dee beginning at 9 p.m. Casey’s on Third makes the game a bit more visual with Video Name That Tune also on Monday nights and hosted by DJ Richie Palko. Rather test your music trivia knowledge on Hump Day? Join in the fun at Wednesday night “Name That Tune” over at Owen’s Pub. The tunes kick off at 9 p.m. with DJ Luper as your host. Winners even receive prizes for their victory! Plus, Wednesdays are Wing Night at Owen’s, so you can enjoy $1.95 orders of wings while gaming until 11 p.m.

Mulligan’s Pub rings in Thirsty Thursday with their own game of Name That Tune, beginning at 9 p.m. Plus, they reverse Happy Hour later that night from 10 p.m. to midnight and offer their $4.95 app menu and awesome drink specials. On Friday, start your weekend with some friendly competition at Dogtooth’s Name That Tune also beginning at 9 p.m. First place winners receive a prize for their supreme tune mastery. The Oceanic’s Barefoot Bar and DJ Rayman invite you to join them on Friday night for their own rendition of Name That Tune, kicking off at 9. On Saturday, Owen’s gets back in the Name That Tune game as DJ Mikey D hosts a friendly round of competition beginning at 10 p.m.
