What’s New in the Wildwoods for 2018

As summer quickly approaches, the Wildwoods have once again added new attractions, activities and eateries for the 2018 season; and have planned an event-filled summer of fun in the sun with all of your favorite rides and attractions ready to enjoy.

NEW Events:

Wild Chocolate and Wine Fest will be held at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwoods at Pacific and Oak Avenues on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 from noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy wine tastings, sweet chocolate treats, craft goods and live entertainment during this two-day festival. Experience a truck event like no other at the New Jersey Truck Invasion, Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23. Check out 4×4’s on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue and two-wheel drive trucks displayed on the boardwalk both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will also feature vendors on displaying and selling off the latest truck accessories for your ride, as well as a show and shine competition and beach obstacle course for 4×4’s. Downtown Wildwood Fitness in the Plaza, presented by Atilis Gym, will offer fitness classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer, from Monday, June 25 through Friday, Aug. 31 at Byrne Plaza, located on Pacific Avenue between Oak and Cedar avenues. The National EVP Pro Am Beach Volleyball Championship will feature youth and adults, from co-ed and amateurs, to men, women, boys and girls. Some pros might even descend on the beach volleyball courts to show off their skills. Crest Best 10 Miler will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7. This two-day event includes a 10 Mile, 5 Mile, 3.1 Mile and Kid’s Races. Athletes can compete in all three races over two days for runners seeking the ultimate experience. Each distance has a different course and is exclusively located almost entirely in Wildwood Crest. The North American Sea Glass Festival will run from Saturday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 28 inside the Oceanfront Arena at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Merchandise vendors with sea glass from around the world will be set up in the arena from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission fee will be charged. The Wildwoods Downtown kicks off the holiday season with Christmas on the Plaza at Byrne Plaza, Oak and Pacific avenues in Wildwood, on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8. Christmas on the Plaza will feature a craft bazaar, children’s entertainment, music and more! The event runs Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday night at the plaza is in conjunction with the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Christmas Parade. Mud Hen Brewing Company, located at 127 W. Rio Grande Ave. in Wildwood in the former Harley Davidson building, is a complete brewing and distribution facility featuring a full-service bar and restaurant.
