15th Annual Bishop McHugh Golf Tournament
Friday, September 26th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Sand Barrens Golf Club – 1765 U.S. 9, Swainton

Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School will hold its 15th Annual Golf Tournament Sept. 26, 2014 at the Sand Barrens Golf Club. The tournament is the major fundraiser for the PreK-8 school.
The tournament is open to anyone who wishes to participate. Non-golfers may support the school by attending the awards dinner. The golf tournament will kick off at 11 a.m. with registration and lunch. There will be a shotgun start with scramble format at 1 p.m. Cocktails are at 5 p.m. and dinner and awards are at 6 p.m.

Cost is $150 per golfer and includes cart, greens fees, lunch, golfer’s gift, hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Guests may also just register for the cocktail reception and dinner for $50.

All About Tea

Find out more about tea, its taste and its fascinating history during a lecture and tea tasting sponsored by the Friends of the Physick Estate. All About Tea with Jessica Litt, the proprietor of House of Tea in Philadelphia, features a discussion of tea and its history, with an explanation of the five types of tea, along with tastings of select teas from The House of Tea, 720 S. 4th St., Philadelphia, Pa.

Olde Time Italian Festival
Friday-Saturday, September 26th & 27th
Where: Fox Park – Ocean Ave between Burk and Montgomery Aves, Wildwood

This free two-day festival celebrates Italian culture and heritage with Italian crafts, authentic Italian cuisine, games for the little ones, contests and continuous free live entertainment. Take in the mouth-watering smells and tastes of an Olde World Italian Market, plus Italian made goods, crafts and merchandise as vendors of all kinds fill Fox Park.

Monster Truck Beach Nationals
Friday-Sunday, September 26th to 28th
Where: Wildwood Beach – Lincoln to Spencer Aves, Wildwood

Monster trucks will square off on a custom beach race course for their chance to win the title of “King of the Beach.” Hours are Friday from 6-10 p.m., Saturday from 12-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Gates open one hour before each start time. Food and merchandise vendors as well as monster truck rides on the beach will also be available. Wild Thang 14 Chrysler Car Show

1st Annual Crabs & Crafts Festival
Saturday, September 27 starting at noon
Two Mile Landing Restaurants – Fish Dock Rd, Wildwood Crest

Enjoy fun for the entire family! The festival will feature kids face painting, balloon artists, a bouncy house, a Blue Crab Derby, pumpkin painting, and more. North American Sea Glass Festival

The annual Sea Glass Festival comes to Cape May! The whole family will enjoy exhibits and lectures on the origins and history of sea glass. Some of the finest sea glass artisans in the country will be represented featuring stunning sea glass jewelry and home decor.

Ed’s Funcade Boardwalk Treasure Hunt

Big Band Concert and Dance

Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum will hold a 1940s Style Big Band Concert and Dance for the second year running. The dance will take place Sept. 27 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at historic Hangar #1. The night will feature live music by the 14-piece Big Band, Walt Wagner and the Serenaders as well as dance instruction by Tom Cupp. Individual tickets and full table sales are still available. OCNJ Half Marathon & 5K

Where: Music Pier – Moorlyn Terrace & Boardwalk, Ocean City

Critter Festival
Sunday, September 28th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Cape May Point State Park Museum – 215 Light House Ave, Cape May Point

The festival will be held both indoors & out, rain or shine, featuring camel rides, Marshal Steve’s pony rides, hay rides with Rea Farms, Dorothy’s chinchillas, Smokey the Bear & fire trucks. Miss Chris Marina and the Wetlands Institute will sponsor “touch tanks”. There will also be horseshoe crab & turtle ponds, Tracy’s monarch butterflies, a display of terrapins through the Wetlands Institute, a hawk banding demonstration, and turtle races hosted by the Turtle Singer! Learn more about dog agility with Chip the Wonderdog. Enter your hermie in the hermit crab races. Or make a pet rock to bring home! Plus, children climb the lighthouse free!
