Christmas in July at the Cape May Lighthouse

Celebrate Christmas in July at the Cape May Lighthouse! There will be games, crafts, gifts and children can visit with Santa. Forget the snow, forget the cold weather, bask in the sun and celebrate Christmas this summer. Admission to the grounds is free. Insectarium Travel Show
Friday, July 25th from 10 to 11 a.m.
Where: Avalon Free Public Library – 235 32nd St, Avalon

The Insectarium Travel Show program will bring a selection of living insects and other arthropods to the Multipurpose room for an educational and fun presentation. Giant millipedes, hissing cockroaches, amazing walking sticks, furry tarantulas, and more will amaze attendees and turn them on to the incredible world of arthropods. Beautiful butterflies and mysterious moths will also be displayed. No registration is required and this program is for all ages!

Santa and Mrs. Claus are vacationing in Cape May! Join us and participate in a day full of holiday activities such as stocking decorating, story time with Mrs. Claus, photos with Summer Santa, and much more festive fun.

Dutch Hoffman Lifeguard Championships
Friday, July 25th from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Where: Lincoln Avenue Beach, Wildwood

This annual beach patrol competition is sponsored by the Wildwood Beach Patrol and honors the memory of Captain Frank “Dutch” Hoffman. For details, call 609-522-8258.

22nd Annual Ultimate Beach Frisbee Tournament
Saturday – Sunday, July 26th & 27th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters – Schellenger Ave, Wildwood

It’s the largest beach Frisbee tournament in the world! This athletic event features a 4-on-4 team competition for players of all levels, ages 18 & over. More than 400 teams from all over the U.S. flock to the Wildwoods to compete in the tournament. Games will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the tournament is free to spectators. Boardwalk Craft Show

Where: The Wildwoods Boardwalk at Rio Grande Ave

Historic Cold Spring Village Railroad Days
Saturday-Sunday, July 26th & 27th from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village – 720 Rte 9, Cold Spring

All aboard! Railroad Days is the perfect outing for folks interested in railroad history, model and toy trains, or just enjoying a unique collection in a unique historical setting.
In the Village Welcome Center, under the Friends’ Pavilion and along the Village’s shady lanes, visitors will find presentations and displays from a variety of groups. On display in the Welcome Center will be the Strasburg Model Railroad Club’s display of the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines HO scale layout. Near the Ice Cream Parlor, guests can see the South Jersey Garden Railroad Society’s G-scale railroad, as well as a display honoring every child’s favorite tank engine. Additional groups, including the Atlantic County 4-H Club and Just for Fun, will exhibit a variety of models and landscapes.

Children can enjoy free toy train rides around the Village, Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., departing behind the Welcome Center. The Family Activity Area will feature special event-themed children’s take-home crafts. Country Divas starring Jacklyn Buckingham
Saturday, July 26th from 2 to 9:45 p.m.
Where: The Ocean City Music Pier, Ocean City

This show pays tribute to the great ladies of country music such as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Martina Mc Bride, Leeann Rimes, Loretta Lynn and more. Amazing vocalist Jacklyn Buckingham will star in this show with Linda Gentille & The Jersey Shore Pops. She is a regular vocalist with the orchestra, but this will be her first starring role in this multi-media Broadway style show.

Night in Venice Boat Parade
Saturday, July 26th from 5 to 10 p.m.
Where: Longport Bridge, Ocean City

Ocean City will host its annual boat parade – one of the largest in the world. The parade starts at the Longport Bridge and proceeds to Tennessee Avenue along the bay. For more info, call 609-525-9300.

Avalon Lions Summer Charity Concert: The B-Street Band
Saturday, July 26th from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Avalon Community Center – 30th and Avalon Ave, Avalon

The Avalon Lions Club is proud to announce that the inaugural First Summer Charity Concert will feature the B-Street Band, the ultimate Bruce Springsteen tribute band. The B-Street Band has been the nation’s ultimate Bruce Springsteen tribute band since 1980. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for dinner. Tickets will cost $35 per person, and this cost includes a BBQ dinner and iced tea. All proceeds of this effort will support Family Promise of Cape May County, helping families who experience homelessness. Christmas in July Boat Parade

Where: Beginning at Shawcrest Marina, Wildwood Crest

Join Lighthouse Pointe for their blowout celebration of Christmas in July this coming Saturday, July 26th. A Wildwood tradition, the annual Christmas in July Boat Parade kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will proceed from Shawcrest Marina to West Wildwood, Otten’s Harbor, and Sunset Lake. To keep diners jolly, Lighthouse Pointe will be serving a full course Turkey Dinner special all weekend long. Enjoy the very merry Christmas Party beginning at 8 p.m. featuring the 7-piece Marino’s Band. All boater’s are welcome and registration is free.

RunAround – A Pop Experience
Saturday, July 26th from 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: Wildwoods Convention Center – 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood

“RunAround – A Pop Experience” is embarking on its first tour – hitting the Wildwoods Convention Center on July 26 at 7 p.m. Set to become the summer’s premiere family concert, RunAround features Disney stars Zendaya and Bridgit Mendler, joined by Hot Chelle Rae, Jacob Whitesides, Before You Exit, Nick Tangorra, Spencer Sutherland and other pop acts.

Fans will also have the chance to showcase their talent in the PopStar/Rockstar Karaoke Contest, hosted by teen celebrity guests, as well as take photos with some of their favorite performers. 6th Annual Quarterback Scramble 5K & 1 Mile Walk
Sunday, July 27th from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Where: 82nd Street Park – 80th St & the beach, Stone Harbor

Ron Jaworski’s football themed run and walk brings together more than 1,200 participants and spectators down the shore in beautiful Stone Harbor! Jaws, joined by runners, kids and mascots starts off a beach morning with a healthy run. The event benefits Jaws Youth Playbook, the foundation of former Eagles QB Ron Jaworski, which helps to combat childhood obesity in underserved communities and keep today’s youth active and fit.
