New Jersey State Barbeque Championship & Anglesea Blues Festival
When: Friday, July 12, 4 PM to Sunday, July 14, 6 PM
Where: 201 New Jersey Ave, North Wildwood
The three-day festival will feature barbeque teams from around the country showing off their grill skills in a quest for the best barbeque. Teams will compete for glory by attempting to create masterfully marinated and seasoned meals, grilled to perfection, in order to earn the title of Grand Champion and prove that barbequing is nothing less than an art. The festival will also feature free live Blues music performed by some of the region’s most soulful artists.
Christmas in July at Historic Cold Spring Village
When: Saturday, July 13, 9 AM – 4:30 PM and Sunday, July 14, 10 AM – 4:30 PM
Where: 720 U.S. 9, Cape May
Historic Cold Spring Village, an open-air living history museum, invites visitors to enjoy a day of shopping while celebrating Early American holiday traditions at its first annual Christmas in July. Antiques dealers, folk artists and crafters will gather along Historic Cold Spring Village’s shaded, clamshell lanes to display and sell their wares. Featured items at the show include country & Victorian furniture, jewelry, hand-blown glass, linens & textiles, pottery, toys, books, home décor, and more! Christmas in July is generously sponsored by the Priester Foundation.
Visitors young and old will be invited to participate in special holiday crafts and activities, including making pomanders, writing letters to Father Christmas with quill pens, and creating clay ornaments.
Local musician Mary Roth will stroll the Village grounds and delight guests with Christmas favorites played on traditional instruments.
Annual Duke of Fluke Fishing Tournament
When: Sunday, July 14, 7:30 AM – 10 PM
Where: 1020 W Rio Grande Ave, Wildwood
Sterling Harbor Bait & Tackle presents the 20th Annual Duke of Fluke Tournament-South Jersey’s largest Fluke Tournament at 7:30 a.m. Live music, pig roast, BBQ and awards ceremony start at 6 p.m. Captains meeting on July 12th. 7:30 a.m.
The Keeper’s on Duty
When: Sunday, July 14, 11 AM – 1:15 PM
Where: 215 Light House Ave, Cape May
Before you climb up the 199 spiraling stairs of the Cape May Lighthouse, learn the historic beacon’s story, as told by one of the current Keepers at the Education Center in Cape May Point State Park (adjacent to the Cape May Lighthouse).
