The Wharf Restaurant – Wildwood’s Own Paradise

After a brief hiatus, Wildwood’s favorite “Hideaway on the Waterway” returned with a vengeance last summer season, bringing new meaning to the expression “new and improved”. Under its original ownership but with a new look, a new menu, and under new management, The Wharf re-established itself as the island’s favorite hotspot for the best in entertainment, finger foods, and of course, their signature beer towers. The Wharf was entirely remodeled both inside and out and features new boat slips, sixteen new flat screen TVs, a new bar, and much more. “We wanted to create a completely new experience,” said manager Jim Harvey of the 2011 re-model. However, “There have been a lot of things done right here for a long time,” added Jim. And the Wharf’s staff work to preserve this tradition of success.

The Wharf boasts an extensive menu of entrees from both land and sea. In the menu’s re-design the Wharf staff sought to create a fusion of the finger foods that have brought the Wharf fame and favorite fine dining dishes. Chef Tony serves up the best of the best in both bar foods and specialty entrees, making the Wharf home to a most enjoyable casual fine dining experience in a family-friendly atmosphere. To start, enjoy crowd-favorite The Wharf Bay Fries or sample the uniquely fresh and creamy Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese. It is these entrees that set us apart from any other place in South Jersey.

As an entrée, sample one of their finest seafood specialties including Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Swordfish, Seared Sea Scallops, and Asian Infused Ahi Tuna. Land-lovers may prefer the 8 oz. Steak Neptune filet or the Chicken Marsala, each served with two seasonal sides such as sweet plantains, garlic mashed potatoes, and Caribbean rice. Savor any or all of these dishes in the Wharf’s beautifully redesigned dining room, complete with its chic yet classic hard-wood look. Be sure to ask one of the friendly servers about the Wharf’s Sunset Dinners special. These dishes, only $17.95, include a full entrée with sides and dessert.

For an equally enjoyable yet different waterfront experience, sample one of the Wharf’s several options at the raw bar. Only the freshest Local clams, local oysters, steamers, spicy shrimp, Alaskan snow crab legs, and mussels keep raw bar patrons coming back for more. The Wharf’s most well-known dining venue, the waterfront deck, continues to offer the breathtaking views, top entertainers, and cold brews that its decades-old reputation promises. Overlooking Otten’s Harbor on the intercoastal waterway, the Wharf’s deck is home to unbeatably beautiful golden sunsets. The sounds of the best local bands including The FGBR Band, Sindi Raymond, Mike Goldman, Joe & Josie, Juliano Brothers, Cowabunga Chris, Bangarang, Vince Schneider, Looseleaf Trio, and Sound Escape heat up the deck daily.

Arrive before the band takes the stage? Not a problem. Take in the game of your favorite national sports team on one of the Wharf’s sixteen flat screen TVs while hearing all the action through their amazing surround sound system. Be sure to stroll to the deck’s edge and grab a drink from Bridget at the Wharf’s brand-new Rio Bar. Snag a front-row seat as the sun sets over the waterway. While a sunset on the deck offers an unforgettable experience, a sunrise can be equally perfect. The Wharf proudly offers “Sunrise Breakfast” specials on the deck each morning.

Visit the Wharf by foot, bike, car, or boat for a cold cocktail or fine dish any time after 11 a.m. daily or for Saturday or Sunday breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Every hour truly is Happy Hour at the Wharf as it begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. daily! Don’t just take it from us…the Wharf offers an unforgettable waterfront experience that you have to see to believe.
