Audiences at the shore have two more opportunities this season to catch The Summer Club, a swingin’ night club event featuring Cape May native Jeff Coon, Fran Prisco, JP Dunphy, some of their most talented and entertaining friends from Broadway and beyond, and a 17-piece Big Band. This show takes audiences back to an era when life was cooler, music was snappier, and all the bands were big.
The joint will be jumpin’ as The Summer Club will feature over twenty of some of the greatest songs ever written, sung by the tuxedo-clad singers, backed up by a band that you’ll have to hear to believe. The Boys and the Band will also be joined by special guests who add to the fun of each show and guarantee that return visitors will see a different show every time.
On Friday, August 14th, at 8 p.m. at the Avalon Community Hall, audiences will be treated to Broadway belter Kenita Miller and hilarious comedienne Erin Maguire. On Saturday, August 15th, at 8 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall, join the Club to see veteran Broadway singer and hoofer, David Jackson, brilliantly talented singer Krissy Fraelich and, once again, by popular demand, Erin Maguire.
The Summer Club’s presenting sponsor is the Cathy Miller Cancer Fund (www.cathymillercancer.org) which is dedicated to research towards finding a cure and “helping another person” while they are living with and being treated for this disease. The Summer Club is proud to partner with them and to help raise funds and awareness of the Fund’s good work.
