The Country Club Tavern – A Favorite Neighborhood Meeting Place

The Country Club Tavern & Package Goods of Cape May Court House perfectly plays the role of neighborhood watering hole. Established in 1988, the tavern has undergone many changes throughout the past three decades, yet its has always maintained its casual, family-friendly saloon-style atmosphere. CCT’s most recent renovation occurred last April. Its owners, the Buckingham and Casper families, decided to maintain the rustic ambiance and purchased all the new décor from yard sales and thrift stores. Each hat, saddle, boot, and belt buckle adorning the restaurant’s interior has its own history and story. Local patrons also chipped in personal donations to the re-design effort. Each can point out his or her leather cowboy boots hanging above the bar or belt buckle on the wall next to one of the large wooden booths. In the end, the upgraded Country Club Tavern went from a neighborhood sports bars to a more family-oriented local hotspot. CCT now features high chairs and fun saddle chairs. For that horseback riding feel at the dinner table, these saddle chairs are the way to go. Anxious while waiting for your favorite comfort food dishes? CCT has its very own tavern puzzles for puzzle-loving patrons to get to work on while dining.
