Standing Ovations and an Excellent Review for ELTC’s ‘On the Sunny Side of the Street’

Singing! Dancing! Dorothy Fields! East Lynne Theater Company presents a world premiere revue featuring the lyrics of the incomparable Dorothy Fields, titled after one of her songs, “On the Sunny Side of the Street.” That and “I’m in the Mood for Love” and “Where Am I Going?” from “Sweet Charity” are three of the 35 tunes performed by a cast of four, accompanied by Charles Gilbert who created the show.

“I can guarantee you a fun and enjoyable evening. The singers’ individual songs are great, their harmonies are beautiful, the a cappella piece is wonderful and Karen Cleighton’s choreography is spirited. Joilet F. Harris will have you tapping your toes and laughing, while Annemarie Rosano is a lovely dancer, Melissa Zimmerman plays her violin for your enjoyment and Scott Harrison is a real charmer. It’s directed by Gayle Stahlhuth who always seems to find lovely people to bring to Cape May, but this group is special. They are enchanting,” wrote Dottie Knapp in her recent review in Exit Zero.

Shows are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30 p.m., except there is no show on Wednesday, July 4, and a show on Sunday, July 8. Location is the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes St. For information and to make a reservation, call (609) 884-5898, email eastlynneco@aol.com or visit www.eastlynnetheater.org.
