If you’re looking for the best drinks, food, views and entertainment in Cape May, look no further than Harry’s Oceanfront Bar & Grille. Harry’s has entertainment nightly, and Saturdays are no exception – in fact, Saturdays are exceptional! Check out this summertime Saturday line-up:
The Change: Saturdays, July 22, Aug. 19 & Sept. 9
Some would call The Change our house band. Maybe that’s because The Montreal Beach Resort’s owner Larry Hirsch is the drummer? Playing classic covers from the ‘60s and ‘70s, The Change brings a sense of Woodstock to Harry’s. Sadly, Larry can only play a couple of shows, being that he has a summer hotel to run.
The Bastard Sons of Captain Mey: Saturday, Aug. 12 at 4 to 8 p.m.
This group of Cape May musicians began swapping sounds and instruments at a BBQ in 2015. Since then, the boys have continued writing and performing the music they create combined with the music they like in various indoor and outdoor settings.
The 9’s: Saturday, July 29
The 9’s, Philly’s premier funk band, plays jazz-influenced funk in New Orleans style, mostly instrumental but with some vocals. Most songs are covers, ranging from obscure songs that you’ve likely never heard of to well-known hits, all played with an infectious swinging groove. They will keep your feet movin’!
Jack Light Move: Saturdays, July 15 & Aug. 5
This reggae-rock-funk-soul infusion group from Philadelphia is dedicated to bringing musical harmony to the world. Whether playing some of your favorite reggae songs or putting their touch on other classics, these guys will make you second guess if you’re in Jamaica or Cape May.
Dead Reckoning: Saturdays, July 8 & Aug. 26
Celebrate the music of Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead. One of the area’s premier Grateful Dead tribute bands, Dead Reckoning has delighted dead-heads all over the Jersey Shore and more.
The Sensational Soul Cruisers: Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m.
The Sensational Soul Cruisers are an 11-man horn group fronted by four soulful vocalists who pay homage to classic performers, from Otis Redding and the Drifters to Barry White and the Commodores. $5 cover, kids 12 and under are free. Standing room only. VIP tables can be purchased starting Aug. 1. Please call (609) 884-2779.
