Relive the Memories
Many people in the community got their start with 4-H. The organization has been credited with making a positive lasting impact on youth for over 100 years. At the Friends and Family Alumni Tent you can explore donated memorabilia from the organization’s early days, page through 27 years of local 4-H partnership with the Cape May County Herald, and reconnect with old friends. Don’t forget to leave your mark, more specifically your thumb print, on the large four-leaf clover, and record your favorite 4-H memory. Make sure you stop by the Friends and Family Alumni Tent to become part of our 4-H Alumni Database to learn what 4-H youth are doing today and how you can remain part of the 4-H family.
Linda Horner, Acting 4-H Agent, is thrilled about this new partnership with the Herald and the opportunity for 4-H alumni to have a spot on the fairgrounds to visit and catch up. “We are so excited to partner with one of our biggest fair supporters on this new addition. We definitely plan to make the alumni tent a permanent part of our annual 4-H fair.”
See You at the Fair
The annual 4-H fair runs Thursday through Saturday, July 16-18, at the 4-H fairgrounds located at 355 Court House – South Dennis Road in Cape May Court House. Public hours for the fair are noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and brand new this year…opening earlier at 10 a.m. on Saturday instead of noon! The fair will close at 10 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free!
The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth grades K – 13 on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, natural origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
