Pride Month Kickoff is June 1 at Exit Zero Ferry Park

What: a celebration of Pride month with food and drink

When: Thursday, June 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Where: Exit Zero Ferry Park

Come celebrate the beginning of Pride Month at Exit Zero Ferry Park in Cape May with a Pride party! Come try specialty foods, drinks, and hear music from a local DJ. This free-admission event celebrates what makes each of us unique and is a great way to show support for the local LGBT community. Proceeds from the signature drink, the “Pride Pleaser,” will benefit Equality Cape May.

The event will include live music and a silent auction and presents the opportunity to network and build community. There will be several great speakers, including:

⁃ Jakob Pender, Project Manager for We Belong CMC
⁃ Shelly Richards, parent of a transgender adult
⁃ Gail Reilly, coordinator for Equality Cape May’s Youth Scholarship Program
⁃ Adele Computer, drag performer

Equality Cape May was founded in 2012 by local resident Ann McCabe and collaborators. “I formed the group because it was important to me that people know LBGTQ+ individuals are living and working in Cape May County. We are your neighbors – and the first step to securing community support is visibility and representation,” says McCabe.
