America’s Oldest Seaside Resort Celebrates 200 Years with Bay Atlantic Symphony Concert and Birthday Cake with Champagne Toast
CAPE MAY – America’s Oldest Seaside Resort, Congress Hall is celebrating a big birthday this year. The iconic landmark will kick off its Bicentennial Celebration Summer on Sunday, May 29 with a performance by the Bay Atlantic Symphony on the grand lawn at 7 p.m. After the performance, Curtis Bashaw, Managing Partner of Congress Hall, will be joined in the Ballroom by distinguished guests and visitors, including former Governor Christie Todd Whitman, to sing a round of Happy Birthday to the Big House by the Sea. Guests are invited to enjoy a piece of cake and a complimentary glass of champagne.
The Bicentennial celebration is open to the public, however seating is limited. The event will take place rain or shine.
Prior to the concert, starting at 4:30 p.m., the public is welcome to tour the newly renovated guest rooms at Congress Hall, all part of a multi-million dollar makeover in celebration of the 200th anniversary.
