Cape May – Lewes Ferry’s “On the Rocks” Bar and Grill Grand Opening

New Cape May Waterfront Location Opens May 27, 2016

CAPE MAY – Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) officials announced the grand opening of the new Cape May “On the Rocks” outdoor waterfront grill, which is now located closer to the Boardwalk and Cape May Canal at the Cape May Ferry Terminal. The grand opening is set for May 27, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature live entertainment and happy hour specials.

“We’re excited with the changes that are in place just in time for the summer of 2016,” said Joe Peltz, Superintendent of Food and Retail. “Many of the changes have come directly from “On The Rocks” (OTR) customer suggestions. Our food service team is proud of the connection we have with our customers and will always look for ways to enhance their experience.”

Entertainment will be provided by Nancy and the Malcuns. A selection of complimentary appetizers will be served, and beer and drink specials will be offered. Customers will be able to order from On the Rocks’ full summer menu. Peltz added that “On the Rocks” has quickly become a community favorite and is the perfect place to watch the ferry vessels come and go or simply take in the beauty of the Delaware Bay.

Peltz noted that the new Cape May facility offers customers a cozier and inviting atmosphere similar to what’s available on the Lewes side. New finishes compliment the finishes of the passenger terminal. All four sides come with picturesque views of the Cape May Canal and the Ferry slips and this new setting should prove to be a great place for customers and residents alike to sample the scenic beauty of the Jersey shore.

Beginning Friday, May 27, “On the Rocks” locations in Cape May and Lewes will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

During the summer season, both “On the Rocks” locations offer great menu choices, including a fantastic variety of grilled burgers, grilled mojo mahi, crab cake sandwich, shrimp wrap and other local favorites. All large plate entrees come with a side of freshly cooked ferry (potato) chips and a side of OTR’s famous onion dip. Scrumptious appetizers unique to the Cape May location include – among many selections – baked clams casino, top neck clams, u-peel shrimp and Manhattan clam chowder. A children’s menu will also available.

OTR continues to expand its varieties of local craft-brewed beers offered to its customers. The craft beers on draught at the Lewes location include those from Dogfish Head, 16 Mile, Evolution, Mispillion River Brewing, Crooked Hammock and others. Among the beers on draught, Cape May will offer the craft beers of Cape May Brewing Company, Glasstown Brewing Company, Tuckahoe Brewing Company and Flying Fish.

“On the Rocks” is also your ticket to some great live entertainment. OTR – Lewes and OTR – Cape May will have live entertainment throughout the season. For a full listing see www.cmlf.com/entertainment.
