On July 3, an Independence Day Fireworks show will once again illuminate the Delaware Bay coastline in Lower Township. The fireworks show will launch at approximately 9 p.m. from a barge roughly one half mile off shore of the Cape May ferry terminal. Wind and weather conditions may alter the starting time of the fireworks display. The Annual Independence Day Fireworks Display is part of the Township’s “Independence Day Festival” which will be held on Bay Drive in North Cape May beginning at 5 p.m.
“Get a front row seat on the green of the Cape May ferry terminal to view and enjoy this year’s Independence Day Fireworks celebration on the Delaware Bay!” said Jennifer Shivers, Assistant Director of Business Operations for the Ferry. “The Independence Day Festival is a fantastic, patriotic, family event and we’re happy to share the view from our terminal for residents and visitors to enjoy the fireworks. Don’t forget your blankets and beach chairs!”
Enjoy free entertainment including face painting and live music courtesy of “Jumper,” a Philadelphia based cover band, from 6 to 9 p.m. Winner of VH1’s Cover Wars, Jumper has been entertaining people from Key West to Boston for more than 10 years. From Sinatra to Lady GaGa, Jumper has it covered. Prepare yourself for a whirlwind tour of music from the past and present. Free face painting is available from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Before the light show, come early, set up your beach chairs and blankets and unwind.
