SEA ISLE CITY — Returning for the second year, the Holiday Stroll will be hosted by the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization on Saturday, Dec. 9. The event will feature holiday activities for the entire family and discounts at participating businesses throughout town. Finish your holiday shopping with unique gifts from the many boutiques and shops in Sea Isle, and enjoy lunch and dinner specials at participating restaurants.
“With the success of last year’s Holiday Stroll, we have decided to make this an annual event for December,” says Chris Glancey, the Chamber president. “Many stores and restaurants will be offering sales and specials, so families can finish up their holiday shopping while the kids enjoy a variety of activities offered all day. We’re really looking forward to this event and we hope you make plans to join us.”
Santa will arrive at 10:45 a.m. in front of the tree at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, to pose for photos before he boards the jitney at 11 a.m. Complimentary jitney service will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as Santa is escorted throughout to visit with families who are shopping at participating locations. It will run northbound on Landis Avenue toward 37th Street, then loop around and head south toward 63rd Street so visitors can stop and shop at their favorite locations. Strolling carolers will be accompanied by the Ocean City High School American Sign Language Club, which will be signing each song. Children will enjoy various activities including a hot chocolate bar, holiday ornament decorating and more.
“In addition to all the family activities, shopping and dining discounts throughout town, we’ve also decided to add a little shopping incentive this year,” says Colleen Buch, the event coordinator. “Customers who spend $20 at participating businesses during the Holiday Stroll will be entered into a raffle drawing to win a $50 Sea Isle gift certificate. We are also asking customers to vote for the ‘Best Decorated’ business this year. It’s going to be a really fun day for families in Sea Isle.”
From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., enjoy the Jingle Jamboree Family Dance Party at the Lobster Loft. Each ticket costs $15 in advance or $18 at the door and includes a buffet lunch, family dance party, a Groovy Girlz pop-up store, glitter tattoos and more. Birdcage will feature 50 percent off all summer clothing, plus cookies and hot chocolate in store. Little princesses will have a chance to go “Shopping with Elsa” at Groovy Girlz from 3 to 4 p.m. as Elsa helps each girl pick out the perfect present for friends, moms, aunts and grandmas alike! The Lobster Loft will host its Ugly Sweater Party at 8:30 p.m., featuring prizes and live music from Mike and Laura.
