Fascinated by the supernatural? Not sure what the odd noise is at night? Visit Historic Cold Spring Village for Paranormal Weekend, held Saturday and Sunday, July 22nd and 23rd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to experiencing the Village’s 27 restored, historic buildings dating from 1691-1912, guests can enjoy various workshops, demonstrations, lectures and tours which highlight the study of spiritualism and the paranormal. Guests can also shop for good luck charms, talismans and jewelry.
Half-hour Mini Ghost Walks will be available at the Dennisville Inn, led by Bob Bitting at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Various Paranormal teams will share their findings of prior Village investigations, including EVP Paranormal, Cape Atlantic Paranormal Society and NJ ROPE! Ron Yacovetti of Gonyac Paranormal will be demonstrating “The Digital Séance”. Long-time investigators of the unknown in South Jersey will look to debunk paranormal claims using EVP, video, Kinnex and other instrumentation to measure the presence of the unexplained. Allyssa Rapp, a psychic medium, will also be present to demonstrate her abilities. Ed Bixby of Steelmantown Cemetery will be speaking about 19th-century funerary customs and much more. The schedule is subject to change.
The Village is located on Route 9, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and a mile and a half west of the southern terminus of the Garden State Parkway. Admission during the season is $14 for adults and $12 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are admitted free. Unlimited free admission is available with Village membership.
Stop by the Village Nature Trail at Bradner’s Run for free self-guided tours. Don’t forget to visit the Country Store, Bakery, Ice Cream Parlor, Shepherds Hook, Cold Spring Brewery, Cold Spring Grange Restaurant or Village Eatery for good eats!
