It has arrived…Our final edition of “Blast” and thus the close to our celebration of the summer season. While the first day of Fall does not arrive until September 23, we’re here to prepare you for that inevitable transition from a bikini and floppy brimmed hat to a light cardigan and jeans. Here, we proudly present a sneak peak preview of the fall fashion trends you can expect to hit the streets after it comes time to officially ditch the beach.
Puffer Jackets
As temperatures plunge, you may be looking for a warm solution. Unfortunately, we can’t all go to Florida but a Puffer Jacket may be the next best thing. Do not worry about looking like the Michelin man as Jackets for Fall 2015 are as stylish as they come. Puffer coats made their appearance at many runway shows such as Fendi and Rag & Bone. Although it may be tempting to just leave the house wrapped in a down comforter, these Jackets are much more pleasing to the eye.
Flare Jeans
There was a time, not so long ago, when flare jeans were the hot trend. Just as many trends make their way back into stores, flare jeans are one of them. Take a break from skinny side and switch it up. This style comes in many looks, from white denim to dark or frayed bottoms to overalls, the flare is back! Head to your local Cape May County Boutique to check out the selection.
70’s Vibe
Keeping in pattern with the flare jeans, the 70’s vibe is back! This Fashion Flashback first appeared in Spring and Summer 2015 styles and is continuing on into the Fall! Shoot for the bohemian aesthetic that has been quite popular this year and look for Chiffon maxi dresses, guitar strap-embroideries, and feather pendants. Don’t stop there, as mentioned before, take on flare jeans and turtle necks and you may just be on point with the look.
The Continued Reign of Brights
This is stupendous news for Cape May County shoppers looking to take advantage of awesome end-of-summer sales. This summer’s brights remain not only acceptable, but totally on-trend for Fall 2015. The secret to making a bright, cheery color work in cold fall weather? Simply add black! Grab a bright summer tunic or shift dress, add a pair of shiny black tights, and voila, a chic fall look. But be sure to balance the ratio of black and bright color by experimenting with accessories, outerwear, and shoes.
Seriously Shearling
It wouldn’t be fall without a bevy of plush fur hitting the fashion scene. Shearling continues to be the preferred fall fur, and designers debuted tons of fall runway looks complete with this outerwear staple. Particularly cuddly and much more subtler than most fur counterparts, coats featuring shearling inlays or accents have been done in a number of ways. Our absolute favorite? The leather and shearling moto jacket combo. The shearling warms and softens (literally) this traditionally tough style.
Chunky Knits
Chunky Knits have been making their rounds in seasons past and they are back again this year. These knits are the perfect option for that in between weather and are perfect for the trip to the pumpkin patch. Balance the bulk with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom, for example, pair the sweater with leggings and boots for a stylish look that will last all Fall and Winter.
