Thursday, May 31 at 10 a.m.: Ghost Crabs, Mole Crabs and Fiddler Crabs
Wonder what shorebirds feed their young? Why those little birds run around at the edge of the surf? Who keeps the beach clean? Who lives in those holes on the beach and dunes? Find out in this program. The program will start with a slide show, then move to the beach where we’ll discover more about some of these mysterious little creatures.
Saturdays, June 2 and June 9 at 9 a.m.: Family Bird & Nature Walk
Learn about this amazing natural area, with a rare dune forest between untouched beach dunes and salt marsh. Birds (both song and shore), wildflowers and butterflies are plentiful. Binoculars can be provided. These walks of approximately one mile in length last about an hour and a half, and are fun for novice and experienced birders alike.
All programs start at the Visitors’ Center, located at 12001 Pacific Ave. (Ocean Drive), just west of Wildwood Crest.
