This week’s featured bartender is a Philly native who has been in Cape May for 27 years. Meet the bartender of the week, Margaret Troutman at Harbor View Restaurant & Bar!
Marge worked in the security printing industry for 18 years, printing food coupons, traveler’s checks, and foreign currency. Margaret was the first woman paper-cutter admitted into a union in the United States.
Marge came to the Jersey Shore in 1995 with the intent of staying for the summer and ended up staying for 27 years. The shore has become her home. Marge worked as a waitress and bartender at other establishments around the Cape May area before starting at the Harbor View in 2005. Her favorite drink at Harbor View is her own “Marge”arita, a golden margarita with a special twist.
Marge’s favorite part about bartending is talking to the customers; She loves being around people! Marge loves the ocean and says she will never live far from the beach again!
