Drink of the Week: Fall Classic

Our most recent drink of the week combines those tropical summer flavors that you may have begun to miss with that spicy kick characteristic of fall cocktails. An original creative collaboration of bar manager James and bartender Ashley, the “Fall Classic” hails from Dogtooth Bar & Grill. Its title is a nod to the season’s much anticipated baseball World Series, also referred to by MLB as “the Fall Classic”. This cocktail’s flavor was created in hopes of fusing the fruity tang of citrus with the savory taste most reminiscent of autumn’s bonfires, harvest, and falling leaves. The Fall Classic is therefore made with orange juice, pineapple juice, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, and amaretto. The amaretto’s sweet almond flavor balanced by the Captain Morgan’s dash of spice can be best described as a truly “classic” autumn taste. The fruit juices serve as a quick throwback to summer flavors, but are complemented well by these liquors’ flavor profile.

Grab a Fall Classic of your own at Dogtooth’s Happy Hour, Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 pm at the bar or on Friday from 4 to 7 pm and again from 11 pm to midnight. When the World Series comes to a close, Dogtooth keeps the sports entertainment coming with their Gameday Corner. Every NFL Sunday, enjoy $5 Chili Bowl Mini Burgers, $1.50 domestic drafts, $7 Bloody Mary Punch Pints until 6 pm, or $.49 wings during all Eagles games.
