While the Jersey Shore most definitely shines during the summer months, it has plenty more to offer when the heat subsides and the leaves begin to fall. Here we outline just a few of the major events occurring in the Cape May community this autumn season. Mutt Strut
Saturday, September 12th at 8 a.m.
Where: Promenade in front of Convention Hall, Cape May
The annual Mutt Strut gives owners and their canines a morning to enjoy a walk on the Cape May Promenade and celebrate the end of the dog days of summer. The 9th annual event will this year highlight dog costume and dog trick contests and a dog obedience demonstration. Half the proceeds benefit No Dog Gets Left Behind, with the remainder to CMCDOTC, the event sponsor. Register on date of event on Promenade near Convention Hall. Raindate is 9/13. Come! Have Fun!

Fall Sidewalk Sale

4th Annual Cape May Dragon Boat Festival
Saturday, September 19th at 8 a.m.
Where: Cape May Harbor, Cape May
The races are from 9 AM to 5 PM on Delaware Avenue, along the Cape May Harbor. Over 50 Teams from all over the east coast will be competing for trophies and bragging rights in this year’s thrilling races. This race is 200 meters long and features a beach load. This event has become one of the largest annual events in Cape May County and has been a great opportunity for teams to raise a lot of money for their favorite charities or Non Profits.

Halloween Parade
Sunday, October 18th at 1:30 p.m.
Where: Perry and Washington Street, Cape May
Mark your calendar for Cape May’s 32nd Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 18, 2015. The annual parade features music, entertainment, and of course, dozens of costumes from chilling to thrilling. Awards will be given in many different categories, groupings, and age ranges. Be sure to bring a sweets bag for trick or treating on the Washington Street Mall, starting at noon. Participants can download a registration form online by clicking here or pick one up at Cape May Convention Hall. Onsite parade registration starts at 1:30 PM on Perry and Washington Street, with judging beginning at 2 PM. The parade steps off at 3 PM from Perry Street and concludes at the Emlen Physick Estate.
