Wildwoods Regional Gymnastics Championship

Wildwoods Convention Center. The United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs will hold a regional gymnastics championship featuring competitions on the floor, balance beam, uneven bars and vault. The competitions will be choreographed to music and prizes will be awarded. The exhibition will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; Competition is 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market

The Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market will open for its 6th season on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 8 a.m.! Plan to be there and check out the awesome vendors who will be selling fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, eggs, herbs, all kinds of baked goods, Sea Salt products, wine, nuts, candy, candles, jewelry, and so much more! Located in Byrne Plaza at 3400 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood, the weekly Farmers Market is the place to hang out on Saturday mornings until 12:30 pm, from Memorial Day Weekend through September. In addition to great shopping, we’ll have our awesome sound system playing your favorite tunes and our giant lawn games like chess, corn hole, connect four and more!

Wildwoods International Kites Festival

Saturday, May 25 to Monday May 27

Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood

Largest kite festival in North America held on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.  Event begins on Friday at noon with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center.  Festivities following include opening of the kite sales tent, a Friday night social via the local kite club and the 9 p.m. illuminated kite fly.  Saturday includes the silent and loud auctions (open to all) and Saturday & Sunday include the flying of large inflatable kites, sport kite demo’s, team flying as well as family games.  Monday features the World Indoor Kite Competition inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.  FREE to spectators.  For more info call 732.822.4884 or visit www.SkyFestivals.com

Bacon Lovers Festival

Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood

Join us May 25 to 27 at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Ave. Wildwood, for an entire weekend for Bacon lovers! Food trucks & local tent vendors, artisan & bacon related vendors will crowd the Plaza.

Each day of the festival will bring you some of the Best Food Trucks from the tri-state area along with some far and near Artisan & Bacon Related Vendors, Free Family and Kids Activities (to include but not limited to Corn Hole, Kam Jam, Lawn Jenga, Connect Four, and Face Painting and Bounce House for the kids.  There will be Wine & Craft Beer Tasting & sale in Garden/Tent area. 

A live Band and DJ Music will provided throughout the day and yes there will be a Bacon Eating Contest  & Best Bacon Dish Contest on the Sunday of this three day weekend event.  Check back as the event draws closer for the list of Food truck Vendors, Retail Vendors and Artisans and the Bands. 

Hours are: Saturday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Run to Remember

15th and Beach, North Wildwood Beach Patrol HQ, North Wildwood
 

This run is to remember the 74 sailors lost on Frank E. Evans (destroyer) during the Vietnam War.  It is a 5K run on the North Wildwood Beach and a 1 mile walk.  Timer will be on hand to record times

All ages and levels of runners welcome.  Brief flag raising ceremony prior to run.  Proceeds to go to a Gold Star Family monument to be located in North Wildwood.

 

City of Cape May Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Cape May in conjunction with the American Legion Harry Snyder Post 193 and VFW Post 386 will conduct a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27, 2019 beginning at 11 a.m. in Cape May Convention Hall.

The ceremony at Convention Hall will be preceded by wreath laying observances county-wide including those in Cape May at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center and the All Wars Monument on Columbia Avenue.  Immediately following the ceremony at approximately Noon the United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May detachments will participate with Flotilla 8-2 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in presenting the Rifle Salute and launching of the flower boat from Gurney Street Beach.

The public is encouraged to attend these ceremonies to honor our Military Veterans.
