4-H Fair: Christmas in July

July 21, 22, 23

The popular 4-H fair returns after a two-year hiatus! This year the theme is Christmas in July. The public hours for the 2022 Cape May County 4-H Fair are 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. 

Sea Isle Carnival by the Sea 

Friday, July 22, 5 to 8 p.m. 

Excursion Park, JFK Blvd. & Pleasure Ave., Sea Isle City 

Come join the Sea Isle fun at the inaugural Carnival By the Sea! Enjoy carnival games, an inflatable obstacle course, a magic act and more!  

Wildwood Christmas in July

Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parade starts by the Wildwood Sign, other events by the convention center

Wildwood’s First Annual Christmas in July kicks off with a Golf Cart Parade on the Boardwalk from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Guests will enjoy crafters, music, food, a face painter and other activities until 6:00 pm.

The Golf Cart Parade route starts on the Boardwalk by the iconic Wildwood sign. The Woodland String Band will kick off the parade and a tramcar will lead the parade while Christmas music plays along the route from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

The parade will exit the boardwalk at the Schellenger Avenue and proceed to Ocean Avenue accompanied by the string band. The golf carts will create a semi-circle in front of the Convention Center at Fox Park. The band will play “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” as Mr. & Mrs. Claus’ golf cart enters the park.

Wildwood Crest Christmas in July Festival

Saturday, July 23 from 8:45 to 9:30 p.m. 

Sunset Lake from Farragut to Miami avenues 

 This year’s Christmas in July events will include a holiday-themed boat parade hosted by the Wildwood Gables Yacht Club.  

The Wildwood Crest Christmas in July Festival and Boat Parade will include live Christmas-themed and pop and rock music with Jamison Celtic Rock, a holiday-themed candy lane, magic shows, face painting, food and more. The event will also include a visit from Santa Claus, who will be on hand for free family photographs overlooking the bay. The Sunset Lake area will also be decorated for the holiday season. 

Clamshell Pitching Competition 

Saturday, July 23 at 9 a.m. 

30th Street beach in Avalon   

In the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s clamshell games were played on the beaches of Avalon along with quoits and horseshoes.  

Registration for singles and doubles competition is 8:30 a.m, games begin at 9 a.m. Entry fee of $10 per person entitles you to a historical society cap. Only shells provided by the society will be used. Trophies are awarded for singles and double competition. Questions, contact the History Center at 609-967-0090 

Craft Beer, Music, and Crab Festival  

Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St, Cape May 

This summer hit named one of the 5 Best NJ Summer Festivals by CBS NY features hard shell crabs, craft beers, food trucks and vendors, crafters, family entertainment and back-to-back music on the outdoor stage at the Emlen Physick Estate.  Admission is free. Bring a blanket or chair and relax in the shade near the outdoor stage. Well-behaved pets welcome. 

Ocean City Night in Venice 

Saturday, July 23 at 6 p.m. 

Longport Bridge to Tennessee Avenue 

One of the biggest annual boat parades in the world is held right here in Cape May County! Ocean City’s Night in Venice is an annual boat parade, featuring boats decorated in lights and decorations. The boat parade is followed by fireworks. 

Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt  

Sunday, July 24 at 1 p.m.  

In front of Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Ave.   

Youngsters are invited to meet with Captain Kidd! Lucky treasure seekers will follow Captain Kidd to his secret site in search of the elusive buried treasure. This event is free and open to children ages 3 – 10 years old. Children will be separated by age group – 3 & 4, 5 – 7, 8 – 10.

Baby Terrapin Turtle Release

“Aladdin” the Musical by the Seven-Mile-Island Players

Stone Harbor Rec Center
