“Battle at the Boards” Basketball Tournament

Crest Savings Bank presents “Battle at the Boards” inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. This special one-day basketball tournament will feature a handful of area and out-of-area boys and girls teams competing in showcase games, starting at 1:30 p.m. Included in the “Battle at the Boards” are the popular Andrew Alameno Memorial boys and girls island championship games between cross-town rivals Wildwood and Wildwood Catholic High Schools. Dashing Thru the Sand 5k Event

Tim Kerr Charities, Inc.’s annual Dashing Thru the Sand 5K event includes both a 5k running race and a two mile walk. Courses for the event are staged entirely on Avalon’s beach. Both races start at 9 a.m. at the Avalon Recreation Center. This 5k race event raises funds for the Live Like Lozier Memorial Foundation in memory of Craig K. Lozier, a local who died at the hands of a driver who was found to be under the influence of illegal substances.
