Back by popular demand, Fireside Chats continue at Cold Spring Brewery! Gather round the fireplace at Cold Spring Brewery for this free lecture series! On April 4 hear “Dangerous at Both Ends: The 19th Century American Whaling Industry” by Jim Stephens, HCSV Deputy Director. For 41 years, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center has relied on the generosity of donors to assist our efforts to respond to over 5,200 animals in need. Donations from individuals and fundraising events make up a large portion of the funds we receive to sustain our efforts. Fundraisers such as “Sippers For Flippers” also play an important part in increasing awareness and funds for our work. All donations are greatly appreciated, no matter the size!

$25 in Advance/$30 at the Door.  Order tickets in advance for the reduced rate. Price of admission includes: specialty dishes from local restaurants, live music by the duo, Clavicles, a “behind the stills” guided tour. We’ll also have unique auction items to peruse and bid on, all in support of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center!

Murder Mystery Weekends with ELTC and B&Bs

The award-winning East Lynne Theater Company, with The Henry Sawyer Inn and Twin Gables Inn, present Murder Mystery Weekends. Participants can test their crime-solving skills while staying in one of these lovely Bed & Breakfasts. East Lynne Theater Company’s Murder Mystery Weekends were cited among one of the top five in the country by “AM NY.” 

These exciting weekends allow guests to portray the detective, murderer, victim, witness, curious bystander, and other crime-related characters, with Frank Smith, an experienced retired Philadelphia police detective, giving just enough information to get sleuthing skills going.

Higbee Beach WMA Trail Exploration and Clean Up

Ever visited the trails at Higbee Beach? Now’s your chance to exploring the trails of Higbees Beach WMA while keeping trash out of the Delaware Bay. Meet at the parking lot where the red and yellow trails meet. 

This event is part of the South Jersey Scrub, a week-long trash cleanup campaign along the Delaware. Visit www.sjscrub.org for more information. Wear appropriate clothes for hiking and refreshments will be provided by Dunkin’ Donuts.
