Singer, Songwriter and Actress Lovena B. Fox Joins the Jersey Shore Pops
CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Linda Gentille & The Jersey Shore Pops continue their popular Summer Concert Series with “Divas of Rock & Soul” on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center. The show will feature accomplished singer, songwriter and actress Lovena B Fox.
Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Lovena B. Fox is a talented and versatile singer, songwriter and actress.
Lovena has extensive theatre credits and multiple awards for her stage performances. She played the role of “Sarah” in the Chicago and U.S. National Tour production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Ragtime,” for which she received critical acclaim and was nominated Best Actress at the National Broadway Theatre Awards.
Lovena also starred as Eva Peron in the Arts Club Stanley Theatre’s production of “Evita in Vancouver.”
Lovena received the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for Best Actress for her performance as “Lucy” in the musical “Jekyll & Hyde.” She also co-starred in the musical “The Education of Randy Newman” for A.C.T. Theatre in Seattle, Washington. Other theatre credits include “Jacques Brel,” “Ain’t Misbehavin,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Black & Gold Revue,” “The Colored Museum” and “Sophisticated Ladies.”
The Jersey Shore Pops is a big band orchestra with a string section, modeled after the orchestras of the Frank Sinatra era which featured strings along with a big band sound. The Pops was founded by entertainer and conductor Linda Gentille in 2009. The orchestra features 25 of the finest area musicians either born or based in New Jersey, becoming the most popular orchestra at the Jersey Shore and an attraction for tourists from all over the East Coast for the past eight years. Many Philly Pops fans attend the Jersey Shore Pops Summer Concert Series when the Philly Pops is on vacation.
