Check It Out! Avalon Library Open House Set for June 18

AVALON – The top-rated Avalon Free Public Library is opening its doors for a day of fun, games and entertainment on Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to “Check It Out” as the library showcases some of its popular online resources, programs, events and activities.

Children will enjoy a wide variety of activities including a special story time with Belle from Beauty and the Beast at 10:30 a.m., plus a bounce house, face painting, caricature artist, video games, crafts, games and much more. Adults and children alike will enjoy the hands-on demonstrations of popular resources including 3D art printing, Hoopla, Freegal, Flipster, OverDrive, Mango Languages and more.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided, and newly registered patrons will be awarded with a gift bag and a chance to win an iPad Air!

The Avalon Free Public Library is open year-round and hosts a variety of children’s activities, educational programs and online resources, as well as offering more than 60,000 books and eBooks in circulation. The Library received five stars in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries, based on statistical performance data collected by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
