Cape May Stage is set to open for its 34th season as South Jersey’s premier professional theater, bringing award-winning plays and world-class talent to historic Cape May, NJ.  

“All of our offerings this season are comedies in a time when we could all use a laugh in a precarious world,” says Roy Steinberg, Producing Artistic Director of Cape May Stage.  

Shirley Valentine: June 7-July 2  

This Tony nominated play tells the story of a Liverpool housewife who throws caution to the wind and embarks on a travel adventure that transforms her life. Written by Willy Russell and directed by Roy Steinberg, and starring three-time Emmy Award winner, Cady McClain.  

Art: July 19-August 27  

This Tony Award-winning comedy set in Paris focuses on the meaning of art and friendship in a battle of wits and words. Three friends grapple with age-old questions about art, relationships, and themselves. Written by Yasmina Reza and directed by Roy Steinberg.  

The Garbologists: September 13-October 22  

This unconventional buddy comedy follows first-time sanitation worker Marlowe and lifer Danny in the cab of a New York City garbage truck. Tasked with picking up what the world has discarded, they learn there’s more that binds them than just picking up the trash. Written by Lindsay Joelle and directed by Roy Steinberg.  

A Tuna Christmas: November 15-December 30  

This satirical look inside the workings of the third smallest town in Texas during the holiday season features twenty-two different characters, dozens of costume changes, and just two actors! Written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard, and directed by Roy Steinberg.
